Once upon a time, our family could eat gluten-filled food without trouble … or much trouble … or much trouble that we recognized. Over time, things got worse. Then we realized that gluten was causing the distress for one of us. So, we worked hard to figure out how to make gluten-free baked goods. What we found was making gluten-free treats was not hard but making gluten-free treats that taste good, that was a different story.
After years of refinement, we entered a few of our treats in a local baking competition – open to all treats. Much to our surprise, we won – against incredibly talented bakers cooking regular (non-gluten-free) treats. In particular, the chocolate caramel fudge brownies were a showstopper.
In the past year, baking has been a safe haven and has brought us so much joy. So, we wondered ... how can we share our love of baking with our local community? Hence, Two Girls Bakery (which had been a dream for many years) has become a reality. We hope that you take the time to enjoy our delicious and irresistible treats – treats that are too good to be gluten free (even though they are).
